This Privacy Policy explains how Tech Novack ("we," "us," or "our") handles information in connection with the FS Companion mobile application ("App") and the fscompanion.com website ("Website"). By using the App or the Website, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please refrain from using the App or the Website.
Data We Collect
FS Companion connects to Microsoft Flight Simulator ("MSFS") through a companion server running on your own computer, on your local network. Flight simulation data such as airspeed, altitude, heading, and aircraft position is exchanged directly between the App and your local server. This data is not transmitted to Tech Novack or stored on any backend we operate; it stays on your device and your local network.
The App uses Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics to collect technical and diagnostic information, such as device model, operating system version, app version, feature usage, and crash or error reports. The Website uses Google Analytics 4 to collect similar technical information, such as pages visited and interactions with buttons and links. None of this analytics data is used to identify you personally.
We do not operate user accounts, and FS Companion does not include any feature for submitting or sharing content with other users. There is no backend service through which users interact with one another.
How We Use Data
We use the analytics and diagnostic information described above solely for technical feedback and internal improvements: identifying and fixing bugs, understanding which features are used, and improving the performance and usability of the App and the Website.
Data Sharing
We do not sell your data. Analytics and crash data is processed by Google, through Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics, and Google Analytics 4, acting as our data processor and subject to Google's own privacy policy. We do not share your data with other users of the App, and we do not share it with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes.
Data Storage and Retention
Flight simulation data is never stored by us, since it never leaves your device and local network. Analytics and diagnostic data collected through Firebase and Google Analytics is retained according to Google's standard retention settings for these services.
Your Rights and Choices
You can limit or disable analytics collection through your device's privacy settings, such as limiting ad tracking or app diagnostics sharing. You may contact us at any time with questions about your data or to request that any information we hold about you be deleted.
Children's Privacy
FS Companion is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can address it.
Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the information described in this Privacy Policy. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. Any changes will be posted on this page with a revised effective date. Your continued use of the App or the Website after a change constitutes your acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
Governing Law
This Privacy Policy is governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Brazil, including the Lei Geral de Proteção de Dados (LGPD), without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
